Opposing Forces Working Together
This is a Feldenkrais Awareness through Movement(R) class which is different than most other movement classes. The objective of this session is for the person to gain insights of habitual patterns of the use of themselves through an exploration of movements, and noticing how we sense ourselves after the session.
In order to become aware of these movements and patterns, we have to become sensitive to them, and in order to become sensitive to them we need to slow our movements down and reduce our effort, sensitivity is inverse to effort and speed.
So in this session I would like you to move very gently, go within your range of comfort without any pain or discomfort so the movements become comfortable, familiar ,easy.
Please rest when you get tired, you don’t need my prompting to take a rest. If you rest while the class is doing some movements just pick up the movements where ever the class is. You don’t lose anything if you rest during some movements
